Writing a Cozy Mystery seems to me to be more like writing a play than a novel.
Dialogue is key, the chief conveyor of information to the audience.
Each character’s voice must be unique and memorable, to stand out in the crowd of suspects.
Stage presence is a must for everyone. There can be no milk-toast souls clogging up the stage…
Of course, I could be doing this all wrong. If so, scrape my mutterings from your head and bury the leavings in the brush pile.
