Piggybacking

Personal triumphs piggyback into my life on the most unusual things.

Yesterday, my victory came riding in on five potato chips.

Yes, five potato chips.

For the first time in well over a decade, I ate potato chips without taking a Pepcid first.

When a stomach ache sends you into an ungodly panic, you do everything you can to avoid said-ache. So, nearly everything I eat outside of crackers, peanut butter, bread and chocolate, I eat after taking a Pepcid (which means I can only eat these forbiddens twice a day).

Yesterday, I popped five chips clean.

I survived.

A small step in a small, yet oddly beautiful, life.

Until tomorrow…
