Black lives matter.
They’ve always mattered.
Unfortunately, idiots have ruled the roost for generations allowing generations of black lives to essentially bleed out unacknowledged.
While this pandemic has stopped me from doing many things, it has not stopped me from trying to counter that wrong.
So, I’ve been transcribing for the Smithsonian records of the 1865 “Freedmen” of Mississippi. Marriages, labor contracts, registers, etc., all kinds of documents going digital.
Does going digital really matter?
I don’t know. At least now their life stories will not be lost to time and fragile paper.
That’s got to mean something, right?
Dear Lord, let it be so.
Until tomorrow…
